Message From the President of QXMC, Chief Ken Brown
This snapshot outlines the progress of our business development in 2009 and provides a brief financial summary for Klahoose Forestry Limited Partnership and Klahoose Shellfish for the 2nd quarter.
Our focus remains on asset and capital development. The board is building a foundation across a range of business areas that will last for years to come.
Our forestry program has been a real success with operations in the Community Forest rolling out according to plan.
As a result of our efforts Klahoose is now recognized as a key part of the economic fabric of B.C.
Our 2008 / 09 audit review completed in the summer of 2009 confirmed the controls of the company were second to none.
We look forward to 2010 and the continued growth of Klahoose business in the Territory.

QXMC Mission Statement

The mission of QXMC is to develop independance for the Klahoose First Nation through economic opportunities.
As a key contributor to the coastal economy, QXMC will identify and invest in opportunities across a broad range of business sectors.
The principles that will guide our investment decisions are generation of profits management of resources, creation of employment, development of capacity and sustainability.
This summary provides a snapshot of the activities and the financial position of Klahoose Forestry Limited Partnership and Klahoose Shellfish Limited Partnership.

Highlights

1.The financial position of the firm at year end, latest report is very positive
2.As of December 31, 2009, QXMC is overseeing an asset base of approximately 6 million dollars.
3.Liabilities outstanding to outside entities are approximately 1.8 million dollars
4.Therefore, in little over two years QXMC has developed a net value of 4.2 million dollars in equity

The board is researching and developing new ventures in a number of areas:
