On Wednesday, February 24th, the local Klahoose community gathered at the old band hall to watch Canada’s men’s hockey team take on Russia.
A commanding 7-3 win over the Russians gave the fans plenty to cheer about. Everyone was glued to the new 60 inch high definition monitor recently purchased by Klahoose Chief and Council for the new multipurpose building.
After the second period, Olympic size prizes were handed out courtesy of Chief Ken Brown. Team Canada shirts, hats and bags were gladly accepted by the fans and pop corn was flying with the help of Band Manager Bev Hills.
The night was filled with cheers and plenty of smiles as Canada made history by ending a long drought of winless games against the speedy Russians.
