Klahoose First Nation
With the hottest days on record, Klahoose First Nation has limited fire protection at IR#7 in Squirrel Cove, B.C.

Since spring 2009, Klahoose Band Administrator Bev Hills, has been diligently applying to the Strathcona Regional District for a fire protection agreement. These efforts are to ensure the safety of the Klahoose community.

“We have worked closely with our local department, have provided resources to further their training, our partners have made significant financial donations to the local halls, and we have in good faith worked on a new services agreement that is stalled somehow by the regional district.” said Hills.

At present Klahoose does have 911 service availble.
Klahoose hopes to have a service agreement in place soon.
