The start of a new ‘Career Achievement Centre program’ has begun for the Klahoose First Nation.
Career Coach, James Delorme has been selected to work with School District #47 to implement an employment centre for Klahoose members and First Nations around the sunshine coast. James has teamed up with Teacher, Gerry Brach and Career Coach, Walter Paul to work with School District #47.
The scope of the Career Achievement Centre’s is to provide Klahoose Members and First Nations with resources to succeed in finding a career and be trained for sustainable employment. Part of the curriculum is a funded six week Employable Skills Program available to all First Nations.
Financial support for this new project comes from a new partnership agreement with School District #47.
This new project is being administered by the First Nations Employment Society through the Government of Canada’s ‘Aboriginal Skills Training Strategic Investment Fund’.
Other successful Career Achievement Programs have begun with Homalco First Nation and the Ahms Tah Ow School at Sliammon First Nation.
