In November 2009 on the frozen ground of the Klahoose First Nation community, began the foundation of a building that would change the face of Klahoose forever.
Through the vision of Chief Ken Brown, the ‘New Relationship Building’ is becoming an Icon for the band's successes. Along with the Chief’s determination came the support from Council members, Jessie Louie, Kathy Francis and Wayne Pielle.
Klahoose Band Administrator, Bev Hills has played an instrumental role doubling as the project manager along with his role as administrator for the band. The amount of spare time and personal effort making this project work has been insurmountable and Bev deserves full credit for the job he has done.
Since the project began last winter, many Klahoose members have been on the ground working from ground break to lock-up.
Klahoose members like Kevin Peacey and Allen Lentz have been creating works of art with the finishing using Klahoose wood products and Western Red Cedar from the Klahoose territory. A tour of the facilities easily shows the brilliance.
This project truly shows the strength of a Nation and the willingness to make a dream a success.
