After much anticipation, Klahoose in collaboration with Taylor Seafoods has begun the harvest of our Turn Point lease. This operation will open the beach up for many purposes. My immediate thoughts upon seeing the cleared substrate was, with all the oysters cleared off of the beach this would make for a perfect summer picnic site with swimming and other water sports, an Aboriginal Water Sports Day if you will. Another benefit for Klahoose is potential reduction of poaching which will then build trust between Klahoose Fisheries Patrol and the commercial clam harvesters.
