Klahoose CCP
Late July saw the long-awaited start of construction of the new Klahoose multi-purpose building. By early August McCoy Excavating had cleared the building perimeter bedrock, and numerous contractors have been on the site to examine the layout.

Tenders have been let for timber framing, and within a couple of weeks the cement and forming contracts should be finalized. We expect more visible construction - that is the form works, steel rebar and cement - to be flowing by late September. Meanwhile the timber framers will be busy fabricating the beams and posts for the frame, which will eventually show up on a barge or series of trucks. It should be exciting to watch the building skeleton be erected within a matter of a couple of weeks sometime this fall.

Over the next few weeks you will see power lines going into the site, the addition of the main construction/safety office, and more visible signs of progress.

If any community members would like a tour, please contact James for more information. During construction, there will be many opportunities to visit the site, and we will provide hard hats for visitors.
