Subject: FN1021-LICENCING - 2010 Clam Licence Issuance
2010 Clam (Z2 and Z2ACL) licence issuance began at 09:00 hours Wednesday
December 23, 2009.
All clam licence eligibility holders are reminded that licence
issuance is available from the Nanaimo Pacific Fishery Licence Unit
only.
To apply for a 2010 commercial clam licence you require:
a) Your 2009 Commercial Clam Licence Application;
b) Current picture identification;
c) Current valid photo on record with the Pacific Fishery Licence Unit;
d) Valid current 2010 Fisher's Registration Card (or you may obtain a FRC - Fee
$60.00 - at the time of application);
e) $30 dollar clam licence fee.
Completed applications may be mailed to (Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for this
process):

Please make all cheques and money orders payable to the Receiver General for
Canada.
In the absence of clear direction from the area First Nations on sharing
arrangements in Area G the process for obtaining Aboriginal commercial clam
licences is slightly different.
Upon provision of proof of aboriginal status and residence in Area G, clam and
FRC applications may be obtained from the DFO office in Port Hardy. Photographs
will be taken and the payment and application will be forwarded to the PFLU in
Nanaimo for licence issuance.
Applicants that are unable to attend the DFO Port Hardy office should request
that your local Band office contact the PFLU in Nanaimo for assistance.
Area G communal commercial clam fishers are reminded:
Licence issuance is not available in the Port Hardy DFO office.
Allow for at least two weeks processing and mailing time.
Licence applications will be available on a first come first
served basis or until other arrangements are agreed to.
Please allow ten working days for clam licence issue. Licences may be either
picked up in person or sent by mail to the licence eligibility holder.
