On Wednesday, September 16th, Ron Francis delivered Halibut and Cod to the Klahoose Community.
The totes were ready, knives were sharpened and everyone was geared up to to start processing the fish to prepare for the upcoming winter.
Band member Helen Hanson was thrilled that she was able to get some help with her fish. " I don't know what I would have done without the help, its nice to see the community come together and help each other out like this. It's a great community spirit every year", says Helen.
The usual Sockeye runs have been poor and Klahoose has gone without for a few years now. The harvest of the Halibut and Cod is a welcomed alternative.
