As our Nation's heritage has its roots in or around the waters surrounding the Klahoose First Nation, it is only fitting that we take an active part in the development and management of this valuable resource.
We are active in the local fishery including Salmon and Prawn fisheries and taking an active role in monitoring a enforcing local maritime laws.
We have an active shellfish program along many of our shorelines and are committed to expansion. We have recently made applications for the introduction of Geoduck farming along our shores. This valuable fishery would give us access to Asian markets for these valuable food products along with our current shellfish harvest.
